Description
Our new 'Gloriana' decorative candle is based on an original vintage Parian ware bust of Queen Elizabeth I and is a real statement piece.
The daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth lived from 1533 to 1603 and was the last of the five members of the Tudor dynasty who were sovereigns.
Gloriana was the name given by the 16th-century poet Edmund Spenser to his character representing Queen Elizabeth I in his poem The Faerie Queene. It thus became the popular name given to Elizabeth I and means ‘Glorias women.’
Elizabeth was the only English queen who never married and the subject of plentiful rumours about secret love affairs. She also was commonly known as the ‘iron queen’ due to her cunning and ruthless attitude.
Handmade using a unique blend of sustainable soy and beeswax and scented with phthalate-free fragrances, our candles are durable, long-lasting and resistant to heat and cold. This enables you to use it as a scented ornament or as a candle - the choice is yours.
A great way to bring a classical touch to any contemporary surroundings.
